WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW WHEN VISITING JAPAN

1. All foreign residents and visitors are must have a passport or alien registration card on your person at all times. If you are found without one you may end up in a Japanese Jail for a few hours until you can obtain identification from home.

2. Japan is a very safe city and crime is very low. If you find yourself in a spot of trouble, find a police-box, called Koban, located on main streets and busy squares. If the police officers do not speak English, there are translators.

3. The local currency is the YEN. 109 Yen is approximately equal to $1. This fluctuates daily. An easy rule of thumb is to insert a decimal point two digits from the last whole yen to get a dollar equivalent. For example, a sumo wrestler figurine which costs 150 yen is $1.50.

4. You should be aware that there is absolutely no tipping in Japan. Do not even try to tip. You will be chased down because someone will think that you forgot your money.

Japan is said to have the three best in the world of several attractions. The three best gardens, scenic spots, waterfalls and the three best bridges. How can you go wrong visiting such a beautiful country? Be sure to dine on Japanese food and view the beautiful cherry blossoms. Ride the Shinkansen bullet train across the countryside, see Mount Figi and don't miss the Tokyo nightlife complete with karaoke. There is something for everyone in the beautiful country of Japan.
